Perfect Your Dreads
Once you’ve got your dreadlocks started and healthily maturing, aim for perfection! I will be the first to tell you that it is a constant work in progress, but there’s nothing wrong with trying to have the best dreadlocks possible.
What Is Perfection Anyway?
However, it bears saying that it depends on your personal definition of perfection. Do you like the salon look, with tight dreads and an exposed scalp? Do you prefer the more natural look with fuzzy edges? Do you prefer something in between? It’s up to you.
Check out some lessons from Dunte86. He shares some of what he’s learned from having dreadlocks not once, but twice. He offers some practical, down to earth tips that not only help you start your locks, but ensure that they look great down the line. I love his emphasis on doing your own research in your own dreadlock journey; there are many resources out there, and what it often comes down to is your own personal preference in how you take care of your locks. This may come as a shock to you, but with dreads, the methods and techniques you choose are not set in stone. And your “look” is completely up to you.
That’s right. I said it. On to the video.
